New Delhi: On the fourth day of the Budget Session in Parliament, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule on Thursday lashed out at the Centre over the range of issues urging the Narendra Modi government to not live in la-la land.

Speaking during Motion of Thanks on President’s Address in Lok Sabha today, Sule asked the government to follow the vision and ideals of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

“I urge this government to not live in la-la land, to introspect what the economy is doing, what’s happening in the country and really put their hand on the heart and see if they really believe in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Is this what their government is all about,” the NCP leader said.

She also took to Twitter and highlighted that Maharashtra is the top-performing state under the ‘Start-Up India’ campaign as noted by the Economic Survey.

She further questioned the ability of Centre’s ‘Make in India’ scheme to create manufacturing opportunities domestically when it cannot even complete its ‘Make in India’ emblem in Udyog Bhavan.

She also spoke on the issue of rising unemployment in the country and hit out at the Centre for its promise of creating two crore jobs.

“Stressed the problem of unemployment highly prevalent in India where more than 1.25crore applicants applied for 35,000 job vacancies in Railways. Questioned the ever-changing job creation target of the Centre from 2crore jobs in last years to just 60 lakhs in this year’s budget (sic),” she tweeted.

Govt fearful of future: Mahua Moitra

Earlier in the day, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra attacked the Centre saying that the government wants to “alter history and is fearful of the future”.

“This govt wants to alter history. They’re fearful of the future and they mistrust the present. The President, early on in his address, speaks about freedom fighters who secured India’s rights. But this is just lip service,” she said while speaking the Lok Sabha.
