All about IAF’s Republic Day 2022 tableau

The Indian Air Force tableau for Republic Day parade 2022 was based on the theme – ‘Indian Air Force transforming for the future’. The tableau, which marched past Rajpath displayed scaled-down models of the newly-inducted Rafale fighter jets, Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), which has been developed by state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Ashlesha Mk-1 surveillance radar.

A replica of the MiG-21 jet, which played a key role in the 1971 War of Liberation of Bangladesh, was also a part of the IAF display at the RD parade.

Inducted into the Indian Air Force in July 2020, Rafales are being procured by India from French aviation major Dassault. The inter-governmental agreement to procure 36 fighter jets was signed between India and France during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Paris in 2016.

32 Rafale jets have been delivered to IAF so far and the final delivery is expected by April 2022.
