All Smiles: Winners and runner-ups of the AITA Women’s Tennis Tournament at the Ash Tennis Academy at Shamirpet, on Friday.
Hyderabad: Telangana tennis player Sanjana Sirimalla cruised past sixth seed Abhaya Vemuri 6-1, 6-2 in the final to clinch the women’s singles title at the AITA Women’s Prize Money Rs 1 lakh Tennis Tournament at the Ash Tennis Academy at Shamirpet, on Friday.
In the doubles, Abhaya made amends for her singles loss as she, along with Apurva Vemuri defeated the top seeded pair of Bela S Tamhankar and Potuguri Chandana 6-4, 6-4 for the title.
Results: Finals: Singles: Sanjana Sirimalla (TS) bt Abhaya Vemuri (6) (TS) 6-1,6-2;
Doubles: Abhaya Vemuri (TS)/Apurva Vemuri (TS) (2) bt Bela S Tamhankar (MH)/Potuguri Chandana (AP) (1) 6-4,6-4.
