At no stage should people lose focus on the Northern borders,” ANI quoted a senior officer at Army Headquarters as saying. The officer further stated that the Indian Army continues to maintain its operational priorities with an intent to develop capabilities with a long-term perspective in view of the threat from the country’s northern adversary.”The ongoing situation on northern Borders warrants the Indian Army to re-align the operational tasking of its reserve formations to focus on the northern borders and refine warfighting capabilities in high altitude mountainous terrain,” the officer added. “Various situations and responses of the formation were wargamed at Mathura and suitable lessons were also being drawn from various modern-day conflicts across the globe,” the officer posted at Army headquarters added. The Armies of India and China have been locked in a border standoff since May 2020 along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakhsev. Since then, the two sides held several rounds of military and diplomatic which have only resulted in partial disengagement of troops from friction points.
