Three-day Janpahad dargha Urs-e-Shareef begins with religious fervor

Suryapet: The three-day annual fete Urs-e-Shareef festival began at Hazrath Jaanpak Shaheed dargah at Janpahad mandal started on Thursday morning with the conduct of Ghusl shareef. The 400- year-old Hazrath Jaanpak Shaheed dargah, which is known as Janphad dargah, was an icon for communal harmony as lakhs of Hindus and Muslims would participate in the fete.
On Thursday morning, rose water and flowers were brought to Darga from the house of Mujawar Jhani and premises of dargha were cleaned.
A new cloth called ‘chadar’ was also wrapped on the tomb of Saidulu Baba after the old one was removed.

The main ritual of the Urs sandal shareef procession would be conducted on Friday for which over three lakhs people would throng to Janphad for different districts and neibouring states also. The distinct feature of Janpahad dargah Urs is Hindu devotees outnumber the Muslims.
